STOUP Fib Indicator Guide

STOUP Fib plots the fib on every swing leg, shows where price can tap and react as grey boxes, turns a box into lines the moment the first candle that touches it closes valid, and marks the liquidity sitting inside each zone. This guide covers every line, box and setting.

01 · Setup

Get it running

  1. 1

    Add it to your chart

Search for STOUP Fib — Active Anchor on TradingView. It's invite-only, so your TradingView username needs to already be on the access list — get this from the Founder in Discord.

  2. 2

    Enter your levels

Open the indicator's settings. The first group, 0 — STOUP levels (required), asks for Level 1 and Level 2 — type in exactly the numbers you were given. Level 2 must be bigger than Level 1.

  3. 3

    Confirm it's unlocked

Wrong or missing levels: a plain grey line sits at the top of the chart and nothing else draws. Correct levels: that line is replaced by a small "Tsmp Stoup Automation" watermark, and the indicator starts plotting.

  4. 4

    Pick your chart

Works best on 15m, 5m or 3m. 1m and 1h also run. Fibs draw all day by default — you can limit them to chosen sessions in Settings.

Keep your levels private. They're confidential and tied to your account. Never share, screenshot or post them — sharing can get your access revoked. The diagrams below are schematic and not drawn to the real level distances.
02 · Anatomy

One leg, two levels

Every leg between two swings gets a fib. One end of the leg is the 0, the other is the 1. Level 1 and Level 2 sit beyond the 1 — that zone is where price is expected to react.

The 0

The far end of the leg. If price trades beyond it before any reaction, the leg has moved on and the fib is removed.

The 1

The swing the levels hang from — a swing low for bullish setups, a swing high for bearish setups.

Level 1 and Level 2

The two lines beyond the 1. The grey box covers the space between them. The first candle that touches Level 1 decides everything.

03 · Box Life

What the grey box does

A grey box is a potential. It's only a possibility until a candle touches it and closes.

What happensWhat you'll see
A box appearsA light grey box over the Level 1 to Level 2 zone, starting at the candle of the 1 and running to the live bar. Two price tags sit at its right end. Up to 3 boxes show on the side price is heading toward, up to 2 on the other side.
Price moves aroundThe box stays exactly where it is. A new low or high doesn't move it — a new swing gets its own box while there's a free slot.
A candle is touching itNothing changes yet. The touching candle is only judged once it closes.
It closes validThe box disappears and the fib lines are drawn on that same close. An alert can fire.
It closes invalidThe box turns into a faint orange box on that same close.
It disappears untouchedSee the FAQ — price beat the 0, the anchor swing left the tracked swings, another rule removed it, or bias flipped and boxes on that side are hidden.
04 · Way 1 / Way 2

The first touch decides on its close

The first candle that touches Level 1 gets one verdict the moment it closes — no waiting for later candles. Shown bullish; bearish is the mirror image.

Invalid: the box turns orange

After it's valid

The fib stays until price takes out the reaction candle's low (bullish) or high (bearish). Then the fib is removed together with its liquidity line. That candle must never be swept.

Touch tolerance

By default a wick has to actually reach the level to count as a touch (0 ticks). The touch tolerance setting lets a wick that stops a few ticks short still count.

05 · Liquidity (TS)

Stops resting inside the zone

When a grey box or a valid fib has a swing high or low inside its zone, that swing is drawn as a cyan line ending in TS. Those resting stops are what price is often drawn to, so a zone with a TS inside carries extra weight.

Which swing

A swing on the box's side — swing lows for boxes below price, swing highs for boxes above. It must sit between Level 1 and Level 2, widened by the liquidity buffer. If several qualify, the one nearest the middle of the zone is used.

Across timeframes

On the 3m, 5m and 15m charts the swings of all three are used, so a 15m box also shows liquidity from the 3m and 5m. The 1m chart uses 1m swings only. The line doesn't say which timeframe it comes from.

Already taken

A swing that a candle already took before the box or fib existed isn't liquidity any more and is ignored. A swing taken later turns into the x version.

StateWhat you'll see
Not reached yetA solid cyan line from the swing candle that runs a few bars past the box (or past the fib lines) and ends in TS.
A candle reaches itThe line runs through the first candle that reached the price, continues two bars past it and ends in an x. Happens live and after the fib is already valid.
The fib is removedIts TS line and x go with it. A TS never stays on the chart without its fib.
06 · Reading It

Every line and box

A valid bullish fib with its liquidity. The reaction candle took the swing low, so the cyan line runs through that candle and ends in an x. The fib lines stop one candle after it — they're never stretched out to current price.

Legend

  • Grey box — a potential. Bold top and bottom edges are Level 1 and Level 2. The two tags at the right are their prices.
  • Orange box — an invalidated zone. Faint, no text. The latest two per timeframe stay for a while, on their own timeframe only.
  • Solid silver lines — Level 1 and Level 2 of a valid fib, labeled lvl1/lvl2 with the timeframe, e.g. lvl1/5m.
  • Dotted purple lines — the 0 and the 1 anchors of a valid fib. Each starts on its own swing candle.
  • TSCyan line — liquidity inside the zone. Ends in TS while untouched, in an x once a candle reaches it.

Info table (top right)

Header = the chart timeframe. Bias = the side price is heading toward. Potentials = grey boxes live now. Invalidated = orange boxes on this timeframe.

Box start

A box starts at the candle of its 1 anchor — it never starts in the middle of old price action.

Line end

A valid fib's lines run from the anchor swings to one candle past the reaction candle, then stop.

Labels left and right

The two latest valid fibs keep their lvl1/lvl2 labels on the right. Older fibs move their labels to the left end of the lines, so the right side stays free for the liquidity line.

07 · Stacked Levels

Two timeframes, one set of levels

With Blend all timeframes on, a chart can show valid fibs of more than one timeframe. When two sit at about the same price, only the higher timeframe is drawn and its label lists both — so you know the level is stacked.

0 / 1 anchors lvl1 15/3m lvl2 15/3m The 3m fib at the same price is hidden. Its name is in the label.
The higher timeframe wins. The lower timeframe's levels and liquidity line are only hidden — they come back if the higher timeframe fib disappears.

How close counts as "about the same price" is the Stack tolerance setting. Both fibs must be on the same side.

08 · Rules

Why a box exists, stays or goes

RuleIn short
First close decidesThe first candle to touch Level 1 is Way 1, Way 2 or invalid on its close.
Sweep ruleThe reaction candle must never be swept. If price takes out its low (bullish) or high (bearish), the fib is removed, even from earlier sessions.
Far-end ruleIf price trades beyond the 0 before any reaction, the leg has moved on — the box is removed.
Same-leg ruleThe 0 and the 1 must be the two extremes of one leg. No swing inside the leg may go beyond either one.
Sibling ruleA leg gives two fibs, one with the levels on each side. The side that reacts first is kept, the other is deleted.
Overlap ruleZones that overlap in price: the first drawn is kept. A valid fib always beats a potential box.
Bigger legsBoxes only come from legs that are a fair share of the biggest recent leg. Tiny swings inside a big move make no boxes.
Pinned boxesA box you've seen stays until it's touched or removed. The side price heads toward shows up to 3, the other side up to 2, nearest to price first.
Wick and bodyWick-to-wick and body-to-body fibs both run. When the wick fib validates it wins. If the first touch fails, the whole fib is invalid.
SwingsA swing needs 3 candles on each side. It shows up 3 candles after it forms. Boxes appear after the second swing of a leg is confirmed.
LiquidityOne swing per zone, on the box's side, not already taken. See the Liquidity section.
Chart limitTradingView keeps only the last 500 lines. The indicator keeps at most 70 valid fibs, the oldest go first, so a fib is never half deleted.
09 · Bias

Why one side gets more boxes

The side price is heading toward gets up to 3 boxes, the other side up to 2. Price falling puts the main side below, price rising puts it above. When bias flips, the two limits swap.

EventBias becomes
A fib turns valid at a low (reaction up)UP
A fib turns valid at a high (reaction down)DOWN
A valid fib's reaction low is sweptDOWN
A valid fib's reaction high is sweptUP
A candle closes above the newest swing highUP
A candle closes below the newest swing lowDOWN

A reaction or a sweep on a candle wins over a structure break on the same candle. A box on the lighter side is hidden when its slots are used up, and comes back when they free up or bias flips.

10 · Timeframes

Each chart runs its own engine

1h, 15m, 5m, 3m, 1m

Every timeframe has its own swings, boxes and fibs. Each can be switched off in Settings. Boxes and fibs of a chart come from that chart's candles.

Blend all timeframes

Off by default. On the 3m, 5m and 15m charts it also draws the valid fibs of the other two timeframes, dimmer, with the timeframe in the label. Fibs at the same price are stacked.

1m chart extra

On by default. A 1m chart also shows the live potential boxes of the 3m, 5m and 15m, tagged with their timeframe. Boxes of different timeframes never overlap.

Orange boxes are never shared between timeframes. A 5m box that was invalidated shows only on the 5m chart.

12 · FAQ

Quick answers

Nothing draws and there's a grey line on top

The levels are missing or invalid. Fill both in group 0 of Settings. Level 2 must be bigger than Level 1.

Price touched the box but it's still grey

The touching candle hasn't closed yet. It's judged on its close, then the box becomes lines or turns orange.

Why did my box disappear?

Price traded beyond its 0 before touching. Its anchor swing left the tracked swings. The mirrored fib reacted first. Another zone overlaps it. Or bias flipped and its side has fewer slots now.

Why is the box orange?

The first candle to touch it was invalid, or a valid fib's reaction candle was swept. Orange boxes are only a record — they show for a while on their own timeframe, then go.

A valid fib vanished

Price took out the reaction candle's low (bullish) or high (bearish). That removes the fib and its liquidity line. Very old fibs can also drop off because the chart keeps at most 70.

What is the cyan TS line?

A swing high or low inside the zone, which is liquidity. It ends in TS until a candle reaches it.

What does the x mean?

A candle reached that liquidity. The line runs through that candle, continues two bars and ends in the x.

Why are some lvl labels on the left?

Only the two latest valid fibs keep their labels on the right. Older ones move left to leave room for the liquidity line.

Why only one side?

The side price heads toward gets 3 boxes, the other side 2. When the other side has no leg to box, you only see one side.

Which timeframes?

The method is built for 15m, 5m and 3m. 1m and 1h are available and work the same way.

Do I trade every valid fib?

That's your decision. The indicator marks the setup — stops, targets and risk are yours to set.
